Wander inland, and you’re greeted with breath-taking canyons, gushing emerald-green rivers, astonishing snow-capped mountains, glacial lakes and rich forests, sprinkled here and there with traditional mountain towns and gorgeous monasteries bursting with vivid frescoes and magical icons.
